Sports!

So I'm a firm believer in a. Well-rounded people and b. Allowing the child to decide... so along those notes, I try to give Killian every opportunity to become well-rounded, and to discover and decide his forte. We do art of all medias and he's taking an art class in January , we have alot of musical instruments which we play to songs and he's taking a music class this fall, we read constantly, he's done a few classes at little gym (aka tumbling) and I signed him up for a tumbling class in January, he has toys ranging from dress-up, puzzles to trucks and trains, and he has a pony at my mom's farm that he rides/grooms/etc.. And... now he's collecting sports equipment. Now, anyone who really knows me knows that I'm ANYTHING except athletic.. but I'm not going to let my downfall stop Killian from playing a sport or two. SO, I signed him up for soccer in September. Unfortunately, his dad said that he wouldn't take him to the classes on his weekends, so Killian only gets to go to 2 of the 5 classes... but I think that he'll still learn something. And here are ALL the sports equipment that Killian's collected: Bowling ball and pins, baseball bat, tee, baseballs, gloves, soccer ball, basketball, and basketball hoop, football, golf clubs and golf balls and holes/mini golf traps, and for christmas, I bought him two hockey sticks and a puk and fishing pole with fish. I'm hoping to get a soccer goal if he enjoys soccer for christmas too.
And I've started teaching his the various ways we use all the different equipment. Here are Killian's words:
Soccer: "kick soccer ball"
Basketball: "bounce bounce basketball" "shoot basket!"
Football: "Catch football"
Golf: "backswing... hole!"
Baseball: "catch baseball" "eyes on ball" "nice hit mama"
Bowling: "yay pins!"

He's quite entertaining while he tries out all these hand/eye coordination. :)

On an unrelated note... last night Killian collected ALL his nuks, put them in a bag for a new baby. So he spent the night without a nuk :) Yes, he screamed for an hour.. but he's been doing that the last two days since he got back from his dad at nap and night.. so I figured that I might as well kill a bird with the stone that Killian had. Of course, when Killian realized he didn't have a nuk anymore.. he quietly went into my room, took the bag for the baby, took out one nuk, and put the bag back. Sigh... smart cookie. But alls well that ends well... this morning he woke with no nuk and hasn't asked for one yet :)

Far too long- Let's look at some pictures

Well, it's been FAR FAR too long since I last posted, so I'm taking some time now to update. I'm going to do this by showing pictures.. which always tell a better story than words :)
We've been playing with bubbles alot.. I got a bunch of bubble accessories from a rummage sale.
Watching movies on his big boy bed
Eating dilly bars in his new car seat-- spoiled little thing
I finished another part of Killian's room... dinosaur puzzle
Going to the greenville zoo
On a walk a few nights away, and ripped open my big toe. This upset Killian, so he had to have a band aid on his big toe too.
Playing at the park... we've been biking to the nearby park. Here he is pretending that the wood chips are food.
Playing at the park in the bus.
Playing at the park with his friend Talyn.
Still at the park.
We've gone on play dates at my friend Amanda's where she nannies.. here Killian's holding Taylor's hand while they're taking a walk.
We went to the Menominee Park with another friend and her daughter.. Kilian climbing through the tube
Peek (Menominee Park again)
Slide at Menominee Park
We went to the Timber Rattler's game.. we started in the bleachers, but ended up on the grass so Killian could run.. he ran around and around and then once and a while would yell, "run around track" to the baseball players, or "hit ball out"!
Still at the timber rattler's game
One night.. I told Killian that he could read before bed. This is what I found... 2 whole shelves of books off of his bookshelf!
At the Building for Kids with Amanda and the kids
Killian liked playing with the cars at the building for kids
He likes to pretend to cook me food :)
He loves playing Wack-A-Mole, put foam zoo stickers onto a piece of paper, and now he loves a Froggy Soccer game
Playing with his aquadoodle. :)

** We also went to the cabin and Killian went tubing for the first time. He seemed to like it.. though he enjoyed driving the boat with my dad more. In fact, at one point, while my dad helped me get ready to ski.. Killian put the boat into full speed ahead... aiming for the dock. My dad got there just in time and reversed it before the boat crashed.**

We are enjoying our summer alot.. and I'm so sad that there's less than 3 weeks before school starts again. :(

Fun filled Day

Well we had ourselves a great, fun-filled day today. We started off by going to the fair in the morning to see my sister and the animals. Killian liked walking around and seeing all the varieties of animals there. We went to work for a nap/work.. and then went to the Building for Kids with a friend and her daughter and son. (Her daughter is Killian's age). They had so much fun wearing each other out.. and they finally play in the same room together, so Brandi and I could catch up. :)
The kids playing on the airplane
Killian driving the airplane by himself

After that.. we headed back down to the fair for some games and rides:
I packed a dinner... here's killian eating the corn on the cob in his carseat.

Killian riding in an old car
Sitting on Mary's boyfriend Josh's horse
Just two of the many toys he won at the fair... someone gave him the monkey (which he loved) and gpa is bugging him with the blow-up dinosaur.
On an alien tilt-a-whirl.. he loved it and was trying to spin it faster.
On his fourth merry-go-round
Playing a racing game with aunt mary's help.

Killian had such a blast at the fair- we're planing on going on saturday.. and I'm sure he'll bug me into riding the rides one more time.

We've been trying to soak up as much summer as we can this last month:
Killian loves to play outside.. and since we don't have our own backyard, I have a little slide that I pull out of the garage.. and he still loves it (even though he's taller than it).

I also got a bike seat for the back of the bike, and we've been biking to the park- which Killian loves because he ends up being the only one there and gets to stay for at least a half hour while I recover from the mile ride (I'm SOO out of shape).
