End of August/Summer Adventures

I'm soo sad that August is ending. :( We're trying to squeeze in as many fun activities as we can!! So get ready for LOTS of adventures:
We went to Bubolz, a local nature reserve, and caught a turtle, frog, grasshoppers, and ladybugs. Here a grasshopper is on his arm.
He liked these benches. He asked me if they made the bench just for him. :)
We've also had LOTS of play dates. His 2 girlfriends who he's known since he was 6 months old are nannyed by my best friend... and just down the street too! We've biked there quite a few times and he always has fun. Here they are frosting cupcakes. You can tell that they are just SO pleased.

I've tried teaching him how to play football and baseball (we use cones for bases). He loves our version of football... he runs screaming every time I try to tag him.
We've gone to our lake house quite a few times as well. He LOVES swimming with Stella and fishing. My grandparents have a lake house about 15 min. away from ours, so we've gone there to visit. Here he's helping drive my grandpa's pontoon boat with cousins.
OOOH this is an adorable story. There's a little boy across the street who Killian likes to play with. The night before, I had taken off Killian's training wheels, and of course his friend came over to ride bikes and play. The next morning, Killian tried to "wake him up" by riding his bike in front of his house screaming his name. When this didn't work, he got very sad. I told him that he could write his friend a note. So he got some sidewalk chalk and said he wanted to write the note. He wanted to write "i love him". So I told him the letters to write and he did. I call it his first love-note. SOOO adorable.
Phew! Another adventure was a farm 20 min. away. We rode a hayride...
and a horse.. nothing new for him.
His FAVORITE.. milked a cow. He's asked me SOO many times when he could milk something.. so he was very pleased when he got to milk this poor cow.
 Touch baby bunnies...
 ..catch chicken.
 Look mom! I got one.
 Touch piggies.
This was a 900 lb. pig! disgusting.
 Touch goats...
 And sheep....

 And baby cows..
He loves these pictures... I'm not sure why.
He held kittens... and promptly told me that he wanted one (He doesn't like the answer: when we buy a house)
He found an egg under trailer.

And he held a bunny. He saw turkeys, baby chicks, baby ducks.. and so much more! It was a very nice morning/afternoon at the farm. They had a  corn roast and he just got to run and scream all morning.
We've gone to our local zoo and the park next to the zoo a few times as well. They have a tiny train that he loves riding...
See? He LOVES putting his face in these.
This is another playdate.... a PJ party.
hahaha.... we went outside and all 3 girls had on sunhats. Killian felt left out, so I told him he could wear one if he wanted.  This is the one he chose, and wore, all morning.
OOOh his first sprinkler.. at a playdate. He loved it!
 Jumping over the water
Trying to lay out his robe-towel next to the girls' big towels.
Then his girlfriends let him borrow a big towel... and B helped smooth it out for him.
The played in the water table for a long time too.. and with the hose.

We've had lots of fun the last couple of weeks! Killian's getting excited for 3-year-old-school... and I'm getting nervous about student teaching. But, before summer's over, my sister and nephews are coming to WI! I CAN'T wait!!

Other Adventures....

Summer's ALL about fitting in as much fun stuff as you can in Wisconsin.... because once the snow hits? Forget about being outdoors. So we've been soaking up the sun and adventures... We've been exploring parks around us. Killian loves a park a few miles away. He climbs the ropes like a chimpanzee!
A new indoor play area opened up by us so I decided to try it out. It'll definitely be a hit during the winter months.
Every room was a different theme.. this room was camping/great outdoors. They built a fort/tree house. Of course Killian called it a pirate ship :)
They had a zoo room.. killian took all the snakes out of the cage and climbed in himself. Of course, if they'd be REAL snakes, he'd have just climbed right in with them.

They had a "school" room with instruments. Killian picked up the microphone and sang twinkle twinkle VERY loudly.

OOOH puppets. He LOVES puppets. I'm pleased to say that I found a large puppet stage set at a rummage sale for 10.00 for xmas for him. He'll be very happy. But here he found a pirate puppet. What could be better?

This photo is from a park... they have fake rocks that you rock climb. He made it to the top (with only a little help from me).

Haha... STILL another park. A small one by our house that we walk to sometimes. Here he's being a bird I believe.

This is the indoor play area again.. we were in the construction/digger room, and he crawled into the doctor room through the hole... without hesitation I should add. :)

2011 Winnebago Fair

The Winnebago County Fair 2011... aka a whole in my wallet.
The fair is SOOOO  expensive. Seriously! But my sister shows her horse in the fair every year.. so it's my duty as loving sister to go. Oh, and Killian LOVES it. Sooo we spent 5 hours at the fair last Thursday. What did we do for those 5 hours (you mean besides spend all my money?)

Well of course we Killian snuggled with Aunt Mary.

Then we saw LOTS and LOTS of animals.. I believe this was a chicken or a bunny.

He found a foal... who tried biting his finger.

Touching baby goats.. whose mama almost bit his finger.

Then we went out to ride rides... there was this HUGE poster that anyone could paint (very cool). So we did a little painting.

And some rides. The wrist bands were 12$/person! So Killian's the only one who got one. I told him he could ride only the rides he could do alone. Luckily he JUST made the height requirements.

This one scared him a little... but he held on like a champ.

When he drove the police car, for some reason he kept making a face like he was constipated. I'm really not sure what it was about. But I'm thinking that he believes all police men make this face.

Oh.... yes He helped bathe Rein (mary's horse). I was not happy about this, because they used purple shampoo. He was wearing a shirt from his dad's house, and I told him not to get dirty. 15 min. later, he comes back to me with HUGE purple stains. It took a few washes and scrubs but I got almost all of it out. Sigh.

He had to check for Rein's "utters". He really wants to milk something and I don't think he cares what kind of animal it is.

Games. Games. Games. Expensive games. Killian liked the fishing ones best.

He got the frog in a second before I could get an action shot!

The fair had some "wild" animals come. They were exotic and cool. We didn't have enough quarters or ANY cash left, so we couldn't feed them. But that didn't stop him from trying to entice them with the empty shovel.

Hahahahahah. I LOVE This photo. This is a "tiger".

He watched Mary get her pictures taken professionally, and was eye-ing the sand.

SO I let him play in it.

My mom's wanted pictures of him walking a horse with his shirt off... so I took the opportunity to shoot a few.

oh.. did I mention he won a few games? This is a GIANT dolphin that we are now going to use as a pool toy...

He wanted to get his pictures taken, so he posed himself.

This one's actually very cute :)

hahaha I'm not sure what this one is

I posed this one. :)
