Sports!

So I'm a firm believer in a. Well-rounded people and b. Allowing the child to decide... so along those notes, I try to give Killian every opportunity to become well-rounded, and to discover and decide his forte. We do art of all medias and he's taking an art class in January , we have alot of musical instruments which we play to songs and he's taking a music class this fall, we read constantly, he's done a few classes at little gym (aka tumbling) and I signed him up for a tumbling class in January, he has toys ranging from dress-up, puzzles to trucks and trains, and he has a pony at my mom's farm that he rides/grooms/etc.. And... now he's collecting sports equipment. Now, anyone who really knows me knows that I'm ANYTHING except athletic.. but I'm not going to let my downfall stop Killian from playing a sport or two. SO, I signed him up for soccer in September. Unfortunately, his dad said that he wouldn't take him to the classes on his weekends, so Killian only gets to go to 2 of the 5 classes... but I think that he'll still learn something. And here are ALL the sports equipment that Killian's collected: Bowling ball and pins, baseball bat, tee, baseballs, gloves, soccer ball, basketball, and basketball hoop, football, golf clubs and golf balls and holes/mini golf traps, and for christmas, I bought him two hockey sticks and a puk and fishing pole with fish. I'm hoping to get a soccer goal if he enjoys soccer for christmas too.
And I've started teaching his the various ways we use all the different equipment. Here are Killian's words:
Soccer: "kick soccer ball"
Basketball: "bounce bounce basketball" "shoot basket!"
Football: "Catch football"
Golf: "backswing... hole!"
Baseball: "catch baseball" "eyes on ball" "nice hit mama"
Bowling: "yay pins!"

He's quite entertaining while he tries out all these hand/eye coordination. :)

On an unrelated note... last night Killian collected ALL his nuks, put them in a bag for a new baby. So he spent the night without a nuk :) Yes, he screamed for an hour.. but he's been doing that the last two days since he got back from his dad at nap and night.. so I figured that I might as well kill a bird with the stone that Killian had. Of course, when Killian realized he didn't have a nuk anymore.. he quietly went into my room, took the bag for the baby, took out one nuk, and put the bag back. Sigh... smart cookie. But alls well that ends well... this morning he woke with no nuk and hasn't asked for one yet :)
